The 16-foot Lynx is small enough to single-hand
easily, yet the cockpit seats four adults comfortably.
Its cuddy cabin is fitted with 6-foot 2-inch-long
berths and a portapotti. It’s a great place for
kids or for a nap at anchor. Of course it’s also
ideal for dry storage of gear. The Lynx’s forgiving
qualities and incredible sense of stability mean
it performs well in open water, but it’s most at
home on bays and inland waters. It can be sailed
in depths of as little as 16 inches, and can even
be sailed right onto a beach. As long as the transom
remains afloat, it can be pushed off again.

Cockpit and Interior of the APBY Lynx
The 16-foot Lynx in modern fiberglass
comes with custom finish, teak, mahogany or oak
trim, spruce spars, bronze fittings, coaming and
rails, ash and mahogany tiller, traditional oak
mast hoops, spun Dacron halyard and sheets, cuddy
cabin with berths and cushions, room for portable
head, and positive flotation.

We also build a the 16-foot Lynx Open-Cockpit
catboat in either fiberglass and wood. The
wooden version is built using the cold molded technique
with cedar strips and fir. The cuddy cabin is replaced
with a larger cockpit and a small dry storage space
forward. View more photos of the 16'
Open Catboat.
